Hi! My name is Irene and I’m from the south of Spain, from Andalusia, more specifically, from the land of salmorejo. Does that ring a bell? Exactly, Córdoba! For me, Córdoba means flowers in May, desert-like heat in summer, and a monumental city all year round.
I studied Translation and Interpreting at the University of Córdoba, and I’ve always been passionate about language teaching — even before finishing my degree. That passion eventually brought me to Vienna. I spent two school years working as a Spanish teaching assistant in different schools across the city. The experience was so inspiring that I decided to continue my training in the field of language education.
I love travelling, reading, hiking and practising yoga. And what does yoga have to do with teaching Spanish? Quite a lot: focus, enjoyment and continuous practice, in this case, of your Spanish. In my classes I aim for dynamism and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. When my students have fun, so do I; time flies and the motivation to keep learning stays strong.
A phrase I truly believe in: “A teacher’s enthusiasm sparks the students’ enthusiasm”.
